Diarrhoea & Oral Rehydration Item Code: EMZ-PAE-ZIN-SUL
Paediatric zinc dispersible tablets — 20 mg (x 10)
Emzor Paediatric Zinc Sulphate is a scored, dispersible tablet formulation for oral use. Each tablet provides 20 mg elemental zinc.
What it is used for
Zinc is a micronutrient important for growth and immune function. Zinc tablets are commonly used to treat or prevent zinc deficiency and may be recommended as an adjunct to oral rehydration solution (ORS) during episodes of acute or persistent diarrhoea in children under 5 years, as advised by a healthcare professional.
How to use
Place the half-tablet or full tablet in a teaspoon, add a small amount of clean water to dissolve, and give the entire spoonful immediately. Follow the pack/leaflet and your clinician’s advice.
Safety notes
Zinc must not replace ORS, which is essential for dehydration management. If your child is on iron (ferrous) supplements, separate dosing by at least 2 hours. Seek medical advice if symptoms are severe, persistent, or if there are signs of dehydration.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Keep tablets in the blister until use. Once removed, dissolve and administer immediately. Keep out of reach of children.
