Maxitrol Sterile Ophthalmic Ointment is a prescription eye ointment presented in a 3.5 g aluminium tube and formulated with dexamethasone 1 mg, neomycin sulfate 3,500 IU, and polymyxin B sulfate 6,000 IU per gram.

This ophthalmic ointment is intended for eye use only and is suitable where a prescriber has recommended a combined antibiotic and corticosteroid preparation. The formulation also contains excipients including methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, and wool fat, so use should follow the product instructions and professional advice.
