IMMUNOCAL ® Nutraceutical Glutathione precursor (Bonded cysteine™ supplement)
It has become abundantly clear that a healthy life depends on a healthy Immune system and how better to achieve that than by using the premier natural immune support product available. Immunocal not only addresses immune function, but through its proven glutathione-enhancing properties, also acts as a critical detoxifier and source of much needed energy. By boosting the “Master Antioxidant” glutathione, enormous benefits can be achieved. Let’s take a deeper look at Immunocal.
IMMUNOCAL is a U.S. patented natural food protein concentrate which assists the body in maintaining optimal concentrations of glutathione by supplying the precursors required for intracellular glutathione synthesis. It has been clinically proven to increase glutathione levels.
It is a bovine whey protein isolate prepared so as to provide a rich source of bioavailable Cysteine. Cysteine serves as the proton donor for Glutathione synthesis and is responsible for the biological activity of Glutathione. Provision of this amino acid is the rate-limiting factor in glutathione synthesis by the cells since cysteine is relatively rare in foodstuffs and furthermore, if released as the free amino acid, is toxic and spontaneously catabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and blood plasma.
- It assists the body in maintaining optimal concentrations of Glutathione (GSH) by supplying the precursors required for intracellular glutathione synthesis.
Glutathione augmentation is a strategy developed to address states of glutathione deficiency, high oxidative stress, immunodeficiency and xenobiotic overload in which glutathione plays a part in the detoxification process. The health benefits of glutathione are but not limited to:
  • It reduces oxidative stress since it is a powerful antioxidant.
  • It boosts and maintains the immune system.
  • It helps fight inflammation and is useful in the management of autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Its role in detoxification cannot be overemphasized.
  • It reduces insulin resistance thus is good for people with type-2 diabetes. It also reduces the impact of uncontrolled diabetes.
  • It reduces cell damage in alcoholic and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
  • It helps in preventing cancer progression
  • It improves brain health and is good for patients who have Parkinson’s syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, autism etc.
  • It may reduce the symptoms associated with chronic obstructive respiratory disease.
  • It improves heart health and increases mobility for people with peripheral artery disease.
  • It improves women’s health.
There are no clinically significant side effects of taking IMMUNOCAL since Glutathione is a tightly regulated intracellular constituent and is limited in its production by negative feedback inhibition of its own synthesis thus greatly reducing any possibility of overdosage.
For mild to moderate health challenges, 20grams per day is recommended.
Clinical trials in patient with AIDs, COPD, cancer and chronic fatigue syndrome have used 30-40grams per day without ill effect.
IMMUNOCAL is best administered on an empty stomach or with a light meal.
Concomitant intake of another high protein load may adversely affect absorption.
IMMUNOCAL is a dehydrated powdered protein isolate. It must be properly rehydrated before use. It should be mixed with 60mls of water for every 20g of IMMUNOCAL and stirred well or shaken before consumption.
Do not use a high speed blender for reconstitution.
Do not heat or use a hot liquid to reconstitute the product.
IMMUNOCAL is contraindicated in individuals who develop or have known hypersensitivity to specific milk proteins.
Although a bovine milk derivative, IMMUNOCAL contains less than 1% lactose and therefore is generally well tolerated by lactose-intolerant individuals. However, if you are on a protein restricted diet you need to take into consideration that each sachet of IMMUNOCAL contains 9g of protein when calculating your daily protein load.
Patients undergoing immunosuppressive therapy should discuss the use of this product with their health care provider. Individuals with autosomal-recessive metabolic disorder cystinuria, are at a higher risk of developing cysteine nephrolithiasis.
