PYRANTRIN oral suspension is an effective treatment against threadworms as well as the rare worms, roundworms and hookworms, in a single dose. It contains Pyrantel Embonate, which works as a "neuro-muscular blocking agent" - effectively paralysing worms. Unable to move, worms are passed out in the faeces.
Ingredient
Pyrantrin oral suspension contains 250mg/5ml of Pyrantel Pamoate. Other ingredient include Sodium Benzoate as preservative and it is free of Gluten, Lactose, Sucrose and artificial colours.
Direction for Use
For oral use only. Shake well before use. A single dose of teaspoonful should be administered as follows: for body weight under 10kg give 2.5 mL, for body weight of between 10 to 25kg administer 5ml, for body weight between 26 to 45kg administer 7.5ml, for body weight between 46 to 56kg administer 10ml, for body weight between 57 to 70kg administer 12.5ml and for body weight over 70kg administer 15ml. Combantrin may be taken with or without food, or with water, milk or fruit juice. Do not exceed recommended dosage. On rare occasions a second dose has been found necessary.
Caution
Pyrantrin (Pyrantel Pamoate) should not be used by pregnant women or by children under the age of one year. It gets rid of worms with a single dose, however, re-infection and the passing of the problem from one family member to another can occur if the eggs are not completely eradicated. When an infection strikes, make sure to pay extra attention to personal hygiene and household cleanliness.
